Michelle DavidsonLecturer & WriterUniversity of Toledo About I teach Composition at the University of Toledo, which means I coach students to become stronger writers and thinkers. In addition to student papers, e-mails, and discussion board posts, I read in the areas of computer-mediated composition and rhetoric, and I always have time for a Modernist novel, something current if it has an edge, and anything about technology's affect on humanity. In addition, I work on the Epsilen Portfolio committee in our Composition Program and co-authored an Epsilen manual for instructors with colleague and friend, Mike Piotrowski. _____ I have always been a writer. Before I first put pencil to paper, I'm sure I was logging ideas--I know, because sometimes they come back to me! I spend too much time writing (one of my colleagues calls me a "text-producer") and not nearly enough time writing (I've got lots of projects in the works). Writing is my stress relief, and one of the most stressful things that I do. When I am not at the keyboard, I might be found playing Wiffle ball, watching the Mud Hens , Cleveland Indians, my son's baseball team or one of my daughter's softball teams, OR I could be putting together a Lego version of the Rebel X-Wing Fighter, camping in the Sleeping Bear Dunes (or wishing I were), or cleaning my house (or wishing I weren't). Favorite songs include Mozart's "Rondo" from Eine Kleine Nachtmusik; Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks, '"Your Time is Gonna Come," and " Bring in on Home," and Elmore James' "Dust my Blues." I inherited my grandmother's shutterbug eye and take a lot of photos of things most people don't find photo worthy.
